- Citation :
- Folks,
NDA breakers are nothing new, all MMOs have had them, WoW included. In terms of numbers of breakers, with the thousands of people we have let into the beta, the number of NDA breakers has not been high. Most of the NDA breakers I've seen have been people that we banned from Beta before they broke the NDA so you can decide for yourself whether they can be objective or not based on that fact alone. Of course, trusting someone's opinion who has agreed not to say anything about the beta test and then decides to break that agreement, and not for humanitarian reasons (to reveal a great wrong, etc.), but in some cases, to simply call attention to themselves and/or their ideas, is a bit silly.
We will continue to be vigilant and take action when necessary against NDA breakers until the day that we lift the NDA. After that, the community can decide for itself whether they think we've delivered a great game or not. After all, beta tests are all about making the game better and if the game was ready for commercial release now, we would have already launched it. One thing that we are doing, as the beta testers will attest to when we release the NDA, is how much we are listening to not only their feedback but also reacting to the things we've seen over the course of this last beta period. Frankly, I think we surprised them this week with a daily update of planned changes/adjustments that we were making to the game based on the last beta test while they were waiting for the next phase to begin. I think it is quite safe to say that the comments have been overwhelmingly positive for the 4 big updates we have posted. Anyone who says that we are not listening, not gathering a ton of feedback and not making changes to the game accordingly is either lying or really means that we are not listening to their idea(s) for what we should do to WAR.
One thing to keep in mind, if WAR was vaporware or, quite frankly, a lousy game, would we be showing it LIVE at shows? If you are really interested in how the WAR beta is going, come to the shows, play the game and judge for yourself. That's certainly more useful than basing an opinion on the state of the game from either NDA breakers or even, yours truly. That's all I've ever asked people and nothing has changed.
